10 New Toddler Childcare Spaces in Kemptville!

North Grenville Cooperative Preschool and Learning Centre is launching a new toddler program! 10 childcare spaces for children aged 18 months to 2 ½ years old, will be ready to accept children on January 09, 2012.

NGCPLC has been in operation now for 8 years and offers high quality, licensed childcare for children 2 ½ - 12 years of age at it’s two sites - Leahurst, on U. of Guleph campus for children under 6 and at Kemptville Public School, for children 6 - 12 yrs. With the implementation of Full Day Learning for Kindergarten aged children in Ontario, NGCPLC is making this move to include a Toddler aged program in order to maintain enrolment and to respond to the community’s growing need for licensed childcare spaces for children 2 ½ and younger.

Over the years NGCPLC has earned a reputation of excellence in the quality of programs offered. The lunch program is very well received, offering delicious, nutritious meals and snacks - all prepared from “scratch”. No prepared or processed foods are served. NGCPLC is committed to an environment of healthy food and relaxed, happy eating!

The E.L.F (Ontario’s Early Learning Framework) curriculum is designed to give the children experiences in: creative art, music and movement, drama, children’s literature, socialization and self-awareness, large and small muscle development, cognitive development, science, group and independent learning experiences, theme exploration, special visitors, fieldtrips and special celebrations days. Teacher-directed and child-initiated learning strategies are used to enhance E.L.F.’s five developmental domains (Social, Emotional, Language, Cognitive, and Physical Development). Daily program plans are designed to provide a stimulating variety of activities in the arts, literacy, science, math, social studies and fine/gross motor skills, enhancing the development of each child. Most importantly, we focus on nurturing a positive sense of self esteem!

A few minor renovations, to meet licensing requirements, are underway and additional teachers are required to put the finishing touches on the new Toddler program. NGCPLC Board of Directors and teachers are excited and pleased to be able to continue to offer a warm, caring and happy childcare environment to the families of North Grenville!
